This guide shows you how to install the MediaTek USB drivers on a Windows computer using the MediaTek Driver Auto Installer. It works on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8 and 7, and covers MediaTek smartphones, feature phones and tablets.
Install the MediaTek drivers
What you need: a Windows computer and the MediaTek Driver Auto Installer (Mediatek_Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.1352.zip).
- Download the MediaTek Driver Auto Installer package and extract (unzip) it to a folder you can find easily, such as the Desktop. If you have already done this, skip to the next step.
- Open the extracted folder and find the file named Install Drivers.bat.
- Right-click Install Drivers.bat and choose Run as administrator. A setup window opens.
- Press any key on the keyboard to start the installation.
- Wait until the window shows that the driver installation is complete. If a Windows Security prompt appears, choose Install.
- Press any key again to close the setup window.
- Restart the computer.
Once the computer has restarted, you can connect your MediaTek device to the computer and use it with flash tools or for file transfer.
- Driver Signature Error: If Windows refuses to install the driver because it is not digitally signed, follow the How to Fix Driver Signature Error guide and then try again.
- Driver Easy: If you still have trouble with the USB driver, you can use the Driver Easy application to find and install the required drivers automatically.
- Credits: The MediaTek Driver Auto Installer is created and distributed by MediaTek Inc.. All credit goes to them for making the driver available for free.
